I am fascinated by the pot as a canvas and I embrace the highly patterned surface. Handmade pottery’s rich history of elegant form and intricate decoration inspires me and is a natural way for me to combine my interests in printmaking and sculptural form. I tailor crisp, stylized natural and architectural images to pots that are designed for comfort and ease of use. Each pot’s personaly emerges during decoration as I improvise on a previous theme of collaged pattern and personality-meaningful imagery. I am thankful every day that I am able to work with this wonderful material and I am grateful to those who chose to welcome my work into their home.
