Richard Boehnke

I am deeply uncomfortable with how many things we produce, consume, and throw away. I wrestle with the fulfillment I feel striving to create beautiful things and wanting to reduce the number of things produced. This cognitive dissonance leads me to challenge assumptions I have made about how to develop my work and build a career as a maker.

As my body of work evolves, I am pushing myself to develop my skillset and reuse clay. I want to learn how to share the value of process over products, communing over consumption, experiences over outcomes with my audience.
