I am a potter who lives and works out of my home studio in Grand Ledge. I enjoy creating functional, as well as artistic pieces. My favorite aspect of pottery is that whether rustic or refined, made with fancy tools or just my hands, the pottery speaks to each individual differently.
Pottery is my second career. After high school I attended Lansing Community College and Michigan State University and studied Fine Arts. Shortly thereafter I started Unique Interiors, a panting company specializing in residential and commercial painting and tiling. A business which I still own and operate today.
In 2019 I joined Clayworks Pottery, a co-op studio. It was here that I met many inspring potters and was faced with many exciting challenges; challenges which encouraged me to further develop my skill and passion for clay. Over the last several years I have been fortunate to be able to build my own studio called Backyard Pottery.
